You bet...I'll hit the checklist first thing when I get home tonight. Stay tuned - and thank you for the attention.

Okay, this should be everything:

1. A Tweaks test from this page. Simply post the tests URL. Please make yourself pingable by lowering firewall, etc..

»/tweakr/block:···a=normal

2. The fastest of the 3 speed tests from this page. See FAQ on copying test results if necessary. You might also run a test from the Speakeasy or Speedtest.net site as well. Please note this for us. Post your results and the location you used.

3. A Line Quality test from here. Please copy & post the URL in the red box! If the wait is too long, do this later if requested.

In progress

4. What type of Internet connection you have (DSL, Cable, Wireless, Satellite) and who your ISP (Internet service provider) is and the make, model and type of your modem.

Comcast Cable Internet 22MBPS Plan. Modem: Linksys CM100.

5. If DSL, do you use PPPoE connection software? (Do you have to connect to the Internet?).

N/A

6. If PPPoE, which one? WinPoet, Enternet, RASPPPOE, etc.?

N/A

7. Which operating system you use? Windows 98/98SE/ME, etc.

Windows Vista Home Premium SP2

8. What your advertised speeds are (ask your ISP).

22MBPS Up / 5MBPS Down

9. If your PC is on a network, and/or using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) or VPN.

Yes, my PC is on a network - however, it is hardwired by ethernet cable directly to the wireless router. As mentioned earlier, all of my wireless devices are receiving blazing fast (25MBPS+) download and (6MBPS+) upload speeds. It's just the pc that's wired to the router that's only seeing 7MBPS speeds. And I've verified that the problem is not the ethernet cable, by connecting it to my notebook which received a 25MBPS download speed.

10. If you use a NAT router (Linksys, Netgear, etc.) for sharing your connection, and if so, the brand and model of your router.

Netgear WNR2000 Wireless-N Router

11. How far you are (if using DSL) from the CO (Central Office). Keep in mind that further than 10,000 feet can significantly degrade speeds. Click here to find your distance, or simply ask your ISP" This is wire length, not mileage.

Not available (and likely not relevant since my wireless devices are pulling great speeds)

Thank you for any help you can provide!

• Pull the router. Connect the Vista box directly to the MODEM. Reboot the MODEM and the box. Run a few speed tests.

• Check your NIC properties and make sure that it is set to 100 Full.

Let's see what that shows.

Thanks Shark...pulling the router ultimately fixed the issue. When I pulled the router out of the mix, I restarted it. After running the modem directly to the pc, I put the router back into the mix and all is good.

A simple router restart AFTER getting the cable internet would have done it for me, initially. Oy...sometimes I forget the easy steps.

Thank you so much for your help. Have a great weekend.

That was an easy one!

If you have any other issues/questions, just come on back.
