Re: Fail I have had my iPhone for 14 months here in NYC. For most of that time my download speeds were on average 300 to 400 kbps, inconsistent, and sometimes as slow as 120 kbps.
Recently there has been an improvement. I am now seeing average speeds of 1mb, once as high as 1.2mb. That's better than a three fold improvement. It has become more stable and more consistent as well.
I used to keep the phone on wifi here at home even though I have 1mb dsl through a wifi router. Now I can actually use the 3g on the phone. It is actually faster than my dsl connection. Guess all the complaining, and bad press paid off.
