Re: [360] Network 360 with regular XP

Just go into the Windows Player. Click the arrow under the library button. Click on Media Sharing and allow sharing or the 360 depending how it already setup to begin with. Then on the 360 go to the video tab and it show your XP computer on it.

One time a person asked where the F button was on their keyboard. I told them they would find it next to the U button.

Yes, this works with media center and non-media center pc's. I've been streaming videos from my XP Home desktop in this manner for at least two years now. Your welcome

You get the video but without sound right? Will the sound come through on the TV speakers?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but when I play stream video from my pc to the 360, it's the plays the video and sound into the same system that my 360 is hooked up, which is directly into the tv.

Oh i see yes it works fine. Widows 7 worked right away for me. Xp was another problem but seems to work now. I was hoping i could stream from anywhere my movie was located on disks. But i guess it has to be moved to the Shared Video folder?

XP don't seem to work for crap for me.

You can stream from any folder. You just have to manually add the folder that the videos are in to the library in WMP 11.

I currently have videos pulling from 8 folders across two PCs on my network. They all go through Windows Media Player on one PC directly to my 360.
