[360] Xbox live echo

When every Im in a game chat or party peoples voices echo back to me but nobody else hears the echo but me . Also my voice also echos back to me as well. I have tried about 10 different mics they all echo . I have also replaced my controllers . How could I fix this? Could it be my internet ?

A lot of people have posed this same question over the years, but in my experience since you're the only one experiencing the "echo" effect, I would start w/ your network, meaning from the ISP side back.

Echo is usually related to packet loss due to latency w/ your connection, not that it's bad, just that's it's poor somewhere. Since your the only 1 hearing it pretty safe to say it's on your end somewhere.

Are you using cable or DSL? Either one, best way to isolate is to direct connect to the ISP modem and play that way, if trouble follows then you know it's coming from your ISP side, then you may need to see what bandwidth coverage you have and if it's sufficient.

All kinds of ins and outs for this problem and sometimes difficult to isolate. I've got a 16/2 cable connection here and echo happens every now and then, it's just the nature of VOIP, it's 1's and 0's, not electrical.

Peace!

I have had my cable company check the lines , they say there are clean and I have a good signal . I have tried direct connecting to modem and I have also went to their highest speed available 20/2 and replaced all cable lines and cords ,but I still get the echo so I went back to the 5/1 . Is it just something I have to live with? My bet is that there is some kind of problem on my cable isp's network but I dont know . Will getting a new xbox maybe help? Because I have dropped it quite a few times on HARD CEMENT floor, maybe something is broke or something.

Well since you've stated that you've direct connected it and the issue follows then it's pretty cut and dry, it's either latency on the ISP side somewhere or it's in you equipment. I would think that dropping the 360 doesn't help anything, but your only talking about echo, sooooo.

What cable company? DOC 3 in your area? How about upgrading the modem? A 5/1 connection is fine for XBL, I ran on a 6M dsl here for years w/ no issues, yes echo would happen, but that happens now sometimes to, but not often.

Latency is the problem somewhere here, not necessarily affecting your gameplay but is affecting the VOIP side for the MIC for whatever reason. Hard to say if you'll have to live w/ it or not, as you're finding out, not easy to isolate. Going to the extreme would be to order DSL and try that on some promo and see what happens, if prob goes away then ouila, your good to go.

no it happens to me also on ps3

i am not too far away from the server only 200miles or so

latency is only 30ms

does it happen when another user joins?
