Bill Moyers had a disappointing discussion about this last night. The depth of ideas was either a Harvard Law professor arguing for taxpayer-funded campaigns. Or, a libertarian from Reason Magazine arguing that corporations are just "associations of people" whose views they represent.

I don't want to support candidates (with my tax dollars) whose views I don't support. That's as bad as the libertarian guy saying 500 corporations represent my views just because I put my 401k money in a mutual fund indexed to the S&P 500 (large cap) stocks.

I choose to ride the bus. Does that mean the bus driver should represent my views?

No, it just means they think we are nothing more than the Bozo's on the bus.

I imagine we're in agreement here. I object to giving constitutional protections to anything other than an individual adult.

I have no knowledge of a founder
authoring a document clearly stating
that the Constitution applies to entities.

Perhaps someone here who might defend the recent SC ruling could provide such a document?

"I object to giving constitutional protections to anything other than an individual adult."

So, children should enjoy no Constitutional protections at all?

They enjoy their parent's constitution protection.
