Re: Eve Online said by Kearnstd:well damn! that would have been a riot. i dare not risk EC-P8R though lol.(unless that system has cooled down a bit, for a short time that place was always hot) ive spent a month in ec camping for fun. killed golems, cnrs, many ships who didnt mean to come in. many good fights, many good spanks.
its always going to be hot.Only way to secure ec is to not try at all. Go completely undefended. Protect it only through capital force or your typical defence roaming fleets. |

You cannot...CANNOT get anything like that out of WoW...
A friend told me about a corporation built to infultrate alliances, work their way to the top and assassinate the capital ship. Well, the leader of this corporation just finished crumbling another alliance when his 2nd in command backstabbed him.
The leader petitioned the GMs about how he was double-crossed...he was laughed at to say the least. -- "To trudge: the slow, weary, depressing yet determined walk of a man who has nothing left in life except the impulse to simply soldier on." -Geoffrey Chaucer, A Knight's Tale, 2001 |

| reply to dogg_man_the Ive been playing eve off and on since 2005. Its a great game that does have a steep learning curve but once you get the hang of things its a great game. I love the new exploration system and the T3 ships. Life in 0.0 is fun if you are in a decent alliance. Always a ton of targets. What alliance are you guys in? I'm in black star but looking for a new home.
The FC's in my alliance are on a power trip and think they are the only ones good enough to lead a fleet so unless your a head FC you cant form a fleet lol or even a small roaming gang. |

FC with the alliance i'm in goes to whoever starts the fleet, and we just assign booster based on who has highest skills so it doesn't really matter who's doing what. |

I write a pirate blog, and it's quite popular

That's a link to all my stories, though I have to say my favorite are these particular ones...

That one is a 4 part story that covers a lot of Eve. From carebears, to wannabe pvp'ers and everything in between. I still get fan mail on that story and I wrote it almost 3 years ago!

and

Those two focus on a guy I met in game. We griefed him out of the game. He jumped corp, ran to new corps, tried to get into Goonswarm where they totally busted him, and eventually paid up a surrender fee and quit game. He tried to play again a few years later but CCP had set his wallet set negative for trying to buy/sell in game stuff for real cash.
He ran from Eve into WoW because he couldn't take the pvp and sandbox gameplay that is Eve. Pure win.
Finally check out

That one was great, we followed one corp endlessly till we accomplished our goals.
Eve is great because of the sheer potential and playability factor. It gets boring like any MMO, breaks are needed now and then. The learning curve is steep for sure.
Your best bet is to read forums and just have some fun. Read the stories, you might like them. I get emails all the time from people who were linked to my stories from somewhere and joined Eve based on what I wrote because it made Eve look like their kind of fun. -- »www.freakynorm.com |

my personal favorite one is when you caught someones pod after they put up a good fight, and OFFER them ransom over replacing implants and they promptly tell you to 'go screw yourself' which is followed by a volley of fire and a message later 'you busted my XXX set ahole i'm gonna kill you next time' even though they seem to have forgotten, pod in jam+web offered MUCH cheaper way out. |
