[XPHome] Installing Windows XP

Hi there. I was wondering if I could get some advice. I need to re-install my Windows XP but I don't know how much I should use to partition for applications etc. The size of my hadrive is 80GB

I tried to do it last night but my hardrive is now saying that i have 8.10GB of free space.

Any help would be great, thanks!

How big a partition did you make for XP? My laptop has a 10 GB C: partition with XP Pro, Office, Photoshop, Street Atlas, Google Earth, and several other applications installed.I've got about 4 GB free. The paging file is off on another partition.

I made 10240. I think that is too much?

I don't understand your concern. What are you using the other 70 GB for? Is it too small?

I'm confused as to why my hardrive is now 8.10GB, I don't know if that's meant to be that size.

With all the updates you'll need about 90GB!

Just kidding I would make it 5GB, why? why not?
Here's the requirements for it.

You said earlier that you made it 10240. That's 10 GB. You've got 8.10 GB left on that partition. What did you do with the other 70 GB that's left on the 80 GB drive?
