Re: Downloaded over 800 gigs with AT&T DSL last month!

said by inferno:

I got AT&T DSL in December just to run torrents 24/7 and I used over 800 gigs of bandwidth in 31 days and they did not say anything... While Comcast terminates you for using 250 gigs a month...

I have Comcast and AT&T DSL right now. I use comcast for gaming and dsl for downloads/torrents.
Hmmm....
800GB of bandwidth?
Either you are hosting wiki leaks, or you are doing something that isn't legal. Either way, the *average* user shouldn't have a problem with 250GB.

If you seriously use that much bandwidth in a given month, why don't you just get a something like T1/T3 service from speakeasy or an OC hookup? At 800GB/month it only begs that question.

Since when did you become the authority on what is legal and what people do with services they pay for?

A t1 is 1995. T3, oc etc are often unavailable to residential addresses. Go ahead, try it.

Wait, what? So, are you saying it is ok for people to perform copyright infringement simply because they are paying for an internet connection?

How do you know what they are doing?

The corporate trolls on this site are getting out of hand lately

Ok then, what could they *legally* be doing that uses 800GB of bandwidth?
A Linux DVD iso is only 4.7 GB.
800GB equates to:
800GB * 1024MB/GB / 4.7GB = ~174298 Linux isos. I don't think anyone likes Linux that much.
Now, if that is bandwidth that was being used as seeding which is whole nother story.
But considering 99% of torrent files violate copyright, can you assume anything else?
»Who Knew? 99% Of Available BitTorrent Files Violate Copyright
And again the only posts I see here are "your wrong and I'm right" without any actual evidence to support your claims, its just yet another fallacy.
