This is why I stated 4.99 a month fee. For those of us without a decent signal in the house, it is easy enough to get them to waive the fee.

Others would like to use the service for free and still not use any minutes.

Regardless of if my call originates on the Airave or on Sprint's tower, I still end up using some of their system to make an take calls. This isn't skype or similar. You are still using your carriers network to do calls.

I think the point is, this is a privilege for which you are already paying, hence your existing wireless bill every month.

Exactly!. I still have my AIRAVE and 4 phones I am selling on Ebay. I got the device for free and the service for free. It DID however use my minutes. I had a great plan with almost unlimited . ATT should follow that model
