Re: CAPS and port 119 throttling Seriously, like I said I never had any problems when I exceed 50gb as I always do every single month for the past 3 years. The softcap is at 100gb per month. Yes it is 50gb for every 15 days, but it is recalculated everyday. You get put on the 2nd server for a day and the system checks again so you might be on the 2nd server for only a day. VIF had never claimed this to be done by Bell. The throttling is done by Bell which is a whole different thing. »wiki.vif.com/dokuwiki/doku.php/en:softcap
And when on the 2nd server, it does not slow down to dialup speed. Line gets drop and it might slow down a bit. But I've never had major issue.
Throttling is done by Bell from roughly 7pm to 2pm and it goes down to around 30kb/s for downloading during that time. It applies to any Bell DSL reseller. Afterwards it is back up to 500kb/s.
I love it when people reply to a comment by assuming you're a complete nOOb with no idea what's going on. Seriously, like I said I've been with them for the past 3 years with roughly 100gb a month. As for that newsgroup thing... I dont' use it so don't care. Seriously u a troll or what? |
