The death of measured services

It is not just the death of voice minutes, but of measured services. People no longer want to pay for X amount of minutes, text, or data useage.

There are many new start up companies (and older ones) who now offer unlimited plants for cheap and their companies are growing.

Pocket Wireless (pocket.com)
Boot Mobile (part of Sprint)
T-Mobile
ATT
Verizon
Cricket
Metro PCS (metropcs.com)

Just to name a few. Prices range from 30.00 and up. So its only a question as to how much will we pay for it.

I often find it complexing that people feel that you've reached a level of maturity and responsibility if you can accept being riped off or taken advantage of for someone else's gain or enjoyment

Except...none of those actually allow unlimited use. They've just buried the limits in the very fine print as "network management" or "network degradation" actions they can take against you if you exceed what they consider to be your allotment.

Nothing has changed except that the lawyers are getting smarter.
