Reports of a massive Earthquake in Southern Chile

The USGS has just announced they picked up what they say is a 8.3 on the Richter scale Earthquake in Chile---- a truly massive quake.

It's too early for any reports of damage etc but such an intensity is serious business.

To heck with the USGS. Gamblers pick most likely volcanoes.

The complete odds are below, for those of you who think you can outfox mother nature.
...
3:1 Mt Unzen (Japan)
9:1 Mauna Loa (USA)
10:1 Ulawun (Papua New Guinea)
10:1 Merapi (Indonesia)
10:1 Santorini (Greece)
11:1 Colima (Mexico)
11:1 Rainier (USA)
11:1 Taal (Philippines)
11:1 Teide (Spain, Canary Islands)

Unlike a government funded and/or politically driven natural forecasting group; I know what drives bookies and their customers. They've got one motivator and the only place it drives them is the magical land of statistical likelihood.

It surprises me to see Mauna Loa on that list. It is a shield volcano that erupts basaltic lava and doesn't explode violently.
