 | Monopoly Seems people have forgotten what the word means. Monopoly? Apple's got a monopoly in what? Not personal computers. Not smartphones. Not music players (though it's closest there). Integration within its own product line does not make it a monopoly.
Google doesn't have a monopoly in search, either, although it certainly dominates the market.
I'm not sure what the "market" for Flash would be; it's something of a swiss army knife. There's nothing only Flash does, but at the same time there's little which does all that Flash does. But if you're looking for an Adobe monopoly, there are certainly markets they clearly do have a monopoly in -- like, say, professional graphics design and photography software. |
