Re: Propane tank to turkey fryer

said by Daarken:

dont be a cheapass, the cost of driving around to find the adapter would be alot less if that tank caught fire and BLEVE while you where cooking.

I have several tanks and burners for cooking outdoors (Cajun food is awesome) and a full new tank only runs around $25.
I wasn't trying to be a cheapass, I was trying to figure out how it worked! I thought this was a "standard" tank but clearly not.

New tanks around here run about 45-50 filled. Considering it would cost about 20 to get this one filled and most of the adapters would run around 10-15, for 10 bucks more I am getting a new/proper tank.

Thanks for all the input folks! Fresh beer is on its way.

edit: Since I have it, what type of cajun food would you recommend? I might as well try some stuff out and I do like cajun.

LOL! You put it in the back of your SUV and drive to the store?

No.

You THROW it in the back of your suv, and drive to the rv dealer.

Great move sir on getting a replacement bottle.

Here are a few things you can cook with your new stuff.

Deep Fry a turkey! Or Turduken.. (Turkey with a duck stuffed inside with a chicken stuffed inside the duck)!! Here is a link to what you need, or just google it.
»www.instructables.com/id ··· -turkey/
You can cook crawfish!!! (i doubt you can get those up there) or crab or even lobster!
»whatscookingamerica.net/ ··· Boil.htm
You can cook a gumbo or stew, etc..
see »en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tu ··· ey_fryer for more.

These things can be great to use with friends and family but keep in mind safety first!
