So actually reducing my service a few months ago from 20/2 to 10/1 isn't so bad since I'm at 16/2 now.

3 questions.

A) How come when I was 20/2 or 10/2 the upload always topped out at 1900 now it tops out at 2100. It's still 2 Mbps upload. Not sure how increasing download helped with the upload.

B) Not that they are enforcing caps anyways but the 10/2 tier had a 100 GB cap. Accoring the their TOS that applied to 15 Mbps and under. Since I'm now at 16 Mbps I'm assuming the cap is 250 GB.

C) Did they get rid of powerboost?

A. They likely increased capacity to support the new speeds in most if not all markets. DOCSIS 3.0.

B. If the TOS weren't updated for the new speeds, then yes. They might still adjust them, though, just haven't gotten to it yet. *shrug*

C. Seems unclear after several user reports so far. Some are getting what's advertised, others are getting some more in speedtests. I'm getting a bit more myself. They may have simply toned down the "boost" a bit, if they didn't remove it completely. I've also read people mentioning that the caps (hard config caps for DL/UL) in their modems were removed during the upgrades which might be another reason for faster than advertised speeds.

Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 0

So we need a docsis 3.0 modem to get the 25/3 tier? Any price differnce if you rent them from Charter vs docsis 1.1/2.0 modems?

Yeah but if you got something like SB5120 you can't get the 25/3 speed even if you're on the 20/2 plan can you?

I'm on a SB5101 and I'm getting more than the advertised DL speed and close to the advertised UL. Main advantage of a DOCSIS 3.0 modem will be channel bonding.

Well they don't know what they are talking about. The fact is the non promo price is the same. So no price increase

They are doing something for sure. I am on 5/1 plan and I used to get around 640KBsec down now I am over 1000KBsec downloading a large file after modem reboot. Nice charter
