Re: central PA world of more updates Lewistown area has 20000 plus people. As for being low income, Huntingdon pa is far more depressed area than lewistown so i can't buy that excuse. As for antenna, because of mountains there is no reception from harrisburg. Most people around me have direct or dish because of comcast. |
|
 | unfortunately I would just get satellite since Comcast isn't investing in your area anytime soon |

 | reply to mikedz4 Mike, not everyone who lives in central PA is low income. |
|
 | I know that, I didn't even say they were |

 | reply to mikedz4 said by mikedz4:you have to get alot of people to want to sign up for hd service. If it is low income they might not want to put the time and money into upgrading the system. Kind of like people that live out in the country mostly don't have cable tv. Too expensive and most wouldn't switch from their antenna, BUD or DBS. I was referring to this post! lol |

 | huh? you replyed to the wrong person |

 | I must have clicked reply on your post by mistake! |

Wasn't the issue with Lewistown, getting proper redundant fiber interconnects from the central PA systems? Something about the river, distance or lay of the land that made it extremely difficult and expensive. Too bad they can't use multiple microwave links and aggregate the resultant links into what a fiber trunk would carry. I guess the closest pop for fiber would be State College, but you have to trudge through Rothrock State Forrest to get lines down to Lewistown. You might be able to follow 22 / 322 to some extent, but that's a bit of a hike and a heck of a job. Cyber , cable companies stopped using microwave years ago |

 | reply to motorola870 Anyone in York getting channel 847 Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia HD? When I was checking the new HD channel lineup online for my address this channel shows on the list, however it doesn't show on my guide (it shows 846 CSN DC & 848 Versus) and if I try to enter the # directly it just bumps me to 848. I also checked other addresses around York and it shows up there as well.
Just wanted to check before I make a service call.
As a Phillies fan, I'm hoping it's correct. |

 | I'd be on the phone quick !
................Go Phillies |

 | reply to motorola870 so what is next for york I know we just got a bunch of adds but is there going to be more? |
|
 | How are you folks finding out the dates of certain analog cuts?
Everybody I speak (including the corporate office) says my analog channels have been removed two months but I've heard that more cuts are coming at the end of this month? |
|
 | We were notified via mail - usually a postcard or something to that effect. |

Bet all those shows are half baked. |

 | reply to motorola870 I know it is technically the wrong forum, but since this is Central PA/Keystone specific, I'll post it here.
Internet speeds are about to be increased in DOCSIS 3.0 areas(dates from 6/30-7/13):
Performance: 12/2 goes to 16/2 Blast: 20/4 goes to 25/4 Extreme 50: 50/10 goes to 50/15 Extreme 105: 105/10 goes to 105/20
Blast and the Extreme tiers need a D3 modem. A simple power cycle will download a new bootfile. |
|
 | Wish I was going to see these. Was told over the weekend that my area in York isn't DOCSIS 3.0 yet. Hopefully it's coming to my area soon. |
