Interesting- So they did a portion of the Philly burbs in October, disappeared for 4 months, and now they've skipped out to the Reading system?
And this goes on top of the info I was given last week that the New Castle County, DE system is now pushed back until summer (from this month) for the remaining analogs to be cut.
Some days I don't think i'll ever understand these schedules! -- "ONE team - ONE city - ONE dream!!"
how msny analogs did reading have on Limited basic?
Also did you guys get 2 more VOD QAMs?
I am wondering whats going to happen when capacity is used up again when these QAMs reclaimed today are gone. SDV?
I heard J Jefferson say that streampix is going to use a single QAM for just that service.
My TWC system is finally at 8 QAMs for VOD streaming I guess that may be due to StartOver/Lookback usage increasing as those services share the VOD QAM pool.
reply to motorola870 2-27 were limited basic. now they are digital. Most of the QAMs i heard are gonna be used for new HD content. I think they want like 50 more HD channels to add to our existing lineup. The QAMs around VOD and that won't be just for VOD. We have products coming out this year and services you guys haven't even heard of that we need some bandwidth for. Also adding more upstream channels. Before anything, we gotta fix the noise issues now created from the transition and get all the DTAs in subs homes before we can move on.
I think it might be in the range you told me a while back on RF19-22 ish area in the sprectrum. Probrably did not have a problem with analog carriers there but might have an issue with putting QAM256 carriers there if there is just enough noise to cause issues.
