Re: GREAT P.R. Stunt, Google! Um... it's ALL "self governance"... be it local, state, or national... or did you not read the Constitution? "We the people" does hold a lot of meaning in this state.
Look, I'm not going to go into the science of how people get elected, nor do I feel this topic needs to continue of any further. But, just becuase someone gets re-elected doesn't mean that the people approved of every single thing a politician did... GW Bush anyone? Many people, even in his own isle, didn't approve of the job he did, but he got a second term..
