I feel I have missed out, I have missed another way I can not watch either one of these crappy shows. Maybe that is why Viacom is not making any money, Crap shows = No Money. Now if Viacom came up with something along the lines of "The Naked News" they might make some money. -- I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man's reasoning powers are not above the monkey's. - Mark Twain in Eruption

Check the last earnings report, you know, the one entitled "Viacom profit quadruples". Secondly, you are in a very small minority of people who think those 2 shows are crappy. The Daily Show single-handedly created a new genre of new reporting. So much so that Fox News tried (and failed in epic fashion) to create a similar show.

I think your response is a bit off base, I don't think it is a conservative bashing given he wants a "pay-per-view" style naked news.
The daily show is crap compared to when Craig Kilborn hosted it. I agree, maybe Viacom is making descent money, but they need to spend some time coming up with better programming. The only good decision made there in 2010 is to host the new Futurama episodes. -- This post is made with meat biproducts.

I don't watch either show never have, never will. I suspect there are a lot of people out their like me who have better things to do then watch such garbage. As for Fox well I don't think they are hurting to bad, fact is I don't watch FX or the broadcast Fox either. I do watch Foxnews because where else can I hear the news without listening to someone who forgot to take their Zoloft that morning screaming into a camera.
As for Naked News I continue to be suprised as to how long this show(?) has been around. I just can not getting into some lady stripping down while doing a news casts. Maybe MSNBC should try it they might get some viewers finally. Instead of screaming they can have mud wrestling. -- I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man's reasoning powers are not above the monkey's. - Mark Twain in Eruption

And then you admit to watching REAL garbage (super-biased opinion shows) on Fox News? Wow, you totally just lost this entire argument. -- »/im/82288374/5591.png

1 edit | said by mobbo:Secondly, you are in a very small minority of people who think those 2 shows are crappy. Well you won't find much support for those shows among the electorate that votes anti-Liberal, anti-Democrat. National elections show those folks averaging around the 50 percentile.
I guess public school math might teach that to be a very small minority.
said by mobbo: The Daily Show single-handedly created a new genre of new reporting. edit:Oh. So they didn't outright steal it from Chevy Chase's SNL News shorts from the mid 1970's

Hey, isn't Glenn Beck's ratings higher than both of those guys combined?

Rush Limbaugh was funny. But it was a half hearted effort at best. If it had not been for my DVR I would have forgotten about the show all togather.

| said by mobbo:That's like saying Fox ripped off CNN by making a 24-hour news network. It's precisely like that. Fox did rip off the CNN news structure.
The only difference was that Fox offered an alternative to left leaning news content.
Other news outlets couldn't be bothered to soil themselves with an audience of folks who wouldn't lean left; so Fox had no competition to half of the country's electorate.

I have been watching the viewer ratings for Glenn Beck and he often has more viewers in his time slot then all of MSNBC has for an entire month. He single handedly put his time slot on the map. It just has to cause MSNBC's panties to get in a bunch because they had Glenn Beck and he didn't make it on their channel. He goes over to Foxnews and has massacred them. -- I am quite sure now that often, very often, in matters concerning religion and politics a man's reasoning powers are not above the monkey's. - Mark Twain in Eruption

That's because Keith Olbermann rants are more like mindless, vicious attacks with barely any semblance of facts to back them up. He burned bridges when he left ESPN and now MSNBC, trying to be the left sided version of Fox, can't get anyone to listen to their stupidity. They had to pull both Olbermann and Chris Matthews from political coverage after their debacle during the Republican Convention and Matthews "tingle up the leg" comments during the DNC convention.

His ratings weren't great at Fox at first either so he just got more and more crazy with the content of his show until all the nuts came out of the woodwork.

I first listened to Beck when he came to Tampa as the afternoon drive time talk guy. I was already listening to Bob Lassiter (who once sent an email to inform me that I was an ***hole) in that slot, so I heard Glenn Beck's first Tampa show.
I continued to listen regularly until 3 years ago, when I started listening to NPR instead. That's 7 years of shows, I think I know his material by now.
I've youtubed a dozen or so of Beck's Fox shows and his content, delivery and volume are where they were in 2000. I had been watching for changes, trying to discern why such a huge swath of left-media, suddenly started attacking him in lock-step.
Since Beck's material hasn't changed in 10 years, it isn't content that inspired the coordinated attacks or else the harassment would be a decade old by now. The only change I can see is the size of his audience.
It isn't Beck's message that's inflaming The Left, it's that more people are hearing it. Worse still, is that those people are getting the opportunity to evaluate it without the careful guidance of The Left's media machine.
The Left Media lacks the courage to admit what really drives them; even to themselves.

| | | | Failed? Is that why Beck's show is still running @ 5 PM (plus he appears on Bill O'Reilly's show at least once weekly) *and* is repeated Sundays after Fox News Sunday?
Sorry; doesn't sound like a failure to me.

| | | You're saying someone should watch a show because--in your opinion--a huge majority thinks it's a good show worth watching? so, just do what everyone else does and forget about your own personal preferences?
Screw "diversity"... be a sheep. (Of course, most people ignore these two shows entirely... but that's beside the point.)
