I think they got it all wrong.

There is no mention of Grant county in Washington state which has had 100mbps (some reports put it at 114mbps) for years now. Grant county PUD's fiber network is available to 80% of it's residents and 95% to businesses.

Any other county can top such coverage with such speeds?

No, it doesn't rain like in Seattle but we do have hot summers and cold winters. This side of the state has a different weather than western Washington.

The area is also very rural with the biggest town having a population of around 19,000.
