Re: Considering getting oOma to replace MJ

Here are some results from Houston, TX to Austin, TX:

Ping ---DL--- ---UL---
47ms 48.09m .94m
48ms 5.13m .94m
48ms 123.69m .94m
47ms 66.23m .94m
47ms 79.99m .94m
48ms 93.52m .94m

I wonder why the DL speeds fluctuate all over the place.
And I don't know if it's the ISP or what. Just trying to narrow it down. But it seems that yesterday when the phone calls were horrible, other I-Net performance was also flaky.
Specifically:
PC-1, was playing I-Tunes oldies and had numerous pauses.
PC-2 was downloading videos with many pauses.

Could be I am overloading the I-Net.

Still I wonder why the big variances in the DL speeds and would that have an effect on MJ.

thanks

I wonder why the (AT&T Uverse) DL speeds fluctuate all over the place.
U-verse tries to use ancient copper twisted pairs to your house from a not-so-nearby VRAD to push far higher data rates than can be had. Lots of retransmitted packets due to bit error rates. And overall crappy design concept becuase AT&T was trying to compete with cable modems which benefit from wideband coax to your house. And with Verizon's FIOS. AT&T (SBC renamed) is all marketing BS and no honest products.
