Comcast does not need to raise your rates, they are making record profits -- about a $billion just last quarter. They raise the rates based on what they think the market can bear. -- [Insert Comcast employee disclaimer here.] |

I'm sorry to say, but SOOOOOooooo many people are forgetting the negative impact of competition... soooo much money is spent by providers to compete with each other, which goes into the price they charge for their services.. AND, sooooo many games, rules, terms, restrictions, etc. are thrown on the customer in the scheme of the entire "competition game" as well.
The moral: there's never any win-win for everyone.. there's always a downside to every green pasture.. just have to deal with all the cow-patties in the path I suppose. |

Their demand to mail you has increased your need to supply more mail boxes. |

I bet you that if any market was spared of this latest round of rate increases, it would be one of the few ones were Comcast ACTUALLY has to compete. -- "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." - Albert Einstein Jose A. No, that is the definition of an oligarchic pricing mechanism; little or no direct competiton, territorial exclusivity and price collusion.

Competition drives down prices, encourages differentiation between providers and promotes value-added services and reasonable, competive pricing. The "many games, rules, terms, restrictions, etc... thrown on the customer in the scheme of the entire 'competition game'" are the result of a lack of competition, rapacious marketing strategies, and a blatant attempt to bamboozle customers. The LARGE PRINT giveth, and the small print taketh away. Cavet emptor!

If by "everyone" you meant consumers, then you are correct; i.e., the usual scenario is corporations win/consumers lose. Likening these obfuscating marketing tactics which prevent establishing a level playing field leading to a competitive market to "cow-patties in the path" is highly appropriate. |

Are they sending oil through coaxial cable now? I better not leave an end disconnected, that would be a heck of a mess. Supply and demand and speculation are used for big oil, it has no place in cable tv, or Internet, or phone. Its not drilled for, or kept in a tank! |
