BF69Premium join:2004-07-28 Camden, TN | What a joke Comcast's "Economy" 1 Mbps downstream 384 kbps upstream service is jumping from $24.95 to $26.95 for those who bundle other services, and $38.95 to $40.95 for those who don't (what's economical about $41, 1 Mbps service?).
Glad Comcast isn't in my area.
Charter offers 1 Mbps for $19.95 a month bundled or not.
at&t offer 756 kbps for $19.95 bundled or not.
So WTF is Comcast smoking? |

iansltx join:2007-02-19 Golden, CO kudos:2 | TWC is up to $25 for 768/128 in my area (TX, no CO) and Verizon DSL is now $35 for 1024/384.
Here in CO Qwest 1.5/896 can be had for $30 for the first twelve months...not great but definitely beats Comcast's lackluster econo-tier pricing. |

Well, if you want to stick it to Charter.. demand that at&t match the 1 megabit speed for the same price.. I'm sure you can get someone at c/s to bite... |

MrWhsprsPremium join:2000-04-22 Skokie, IL | reply to BF69 I agree, the Comcast economy tier (or for that matter any tier of Comcast if you're not a TV subscriber) is more expensive than competitors. For example, RCN cable in Chicago offers 1.5Mbps/384Kbps for $19.99/mo, 10Mbps/800Kbps for $29.99/mo, and 20/2Mbps for $49.99/mo, no TV subscription required. Modem rental fee is $3/mo but is being raised to $5/mo. -- Mike |
