Linux has such a long way to come with multimedia.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, just because there is no exact clone of foobar2000 in Linux doesn't make your statement true.
Perhaps you could explain what is lacking from the provided program examples that cause Linux to lack so much in the multimedia arena. It may be possible they aren't actually missing a feature.
Some of your requirements, such as "double clicking it and having it begin playing" are a function of the file manager and not any specific media player.
