1 edit | COVAD Now Supporting AnnexM/P-660R Debrand Just thought I'd pass this along for those running the P-660R-ELNK.
You can snag an updated copy of the firmware here.

It might help if you have flaky upstream margins as it adds AnnexM.
My line improved by at least 8db on the upstream side.
noise margin upstream: 30 db output power downstream: 18 db attenuation upstream: 5 db noise margin downstream: 19 db output power upstream: 11 db attenuation downstream: 17 db
Edit: Sorry, forgot you had to preview to use BBR's upload img. |

Yes, PPPoA is supported in the P-660R series. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

DrStrangeTechnically feasiblePremium join:2001-07-23 West Hartford, CT kudos:1 | reply to whfsdude Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that some time, even though it'll be tough to replace the high-power 802.11g in my 2Wire 2701HG-B if I decide to switch. |

DrStrangeTechnically feasiblePremium join:2001-07-23 West Hartford, CT kudos:1 | reply to whfsdude Thanks. If I weren't seriously brain-fried, I'd have thought of that.
Eventually, you may read about it in Rants, Raves etc. I've got a business customer with a new laptop that's apparently a lemon. |

 | reply to whfsdude P-660R-D1 is what mine says. In 2000, I acquired Mindspring as a dsl isp and Covad controlled the equipment. For a number of years, I tried to solve an apparent old copper problem that gave me throughput/sync problems for about half the year, during the warm months. Finally, I switched to Comcast cable, which was fine, then back to Earthlink 1.5 dsl in a cost-cutting move. That has been quite reliable, so I conjecture the fault is not exposed at this setting, less likely it has been repaired. It looks like Covad is no longer in the CO? dlsreports sees sbcglobal and traceroute:
[..] 2 adsl-99-153-219-254.dsl.pltn13.sbcglobal.net (99.153.219.254) 14.040 ms 17.078 ms 20.750 ms [..]
So, mostly idle curiosity, as I might like to try a faster sync package when my economic stimulus package arrives and noting the improvement for marginal lines, does this firmware fit on my Zyxel? |

Reading closer, I see you've already gone over this. :)
Can you tell me if, as it looks, sbc has the reigns, will the benefits whfsdude reports also result for my setup? |

I don't see any downside in updating the Firmware as it should be just as stable as it is now. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time? |

 | Sounds good. Thanks, again. |
