His own words really paint a picture, all on their own...very black and white in essence.

“Wilderness, to me, is a spiritual necessity,” writes Butcher of his art. “When my son was killed by a drunk driver, it was to the wilderness that I fled in hopes of regaining my serenity and equilibrium. The mysterious spiritual experience of being close to nature helped restore my soul. Clyde is a master, without question and is one of my favorite nature photographers of all time. He truly is an artist, working in the ways of the old ...his work is amazing and visual perfection. he is literally, the modern version of Ansel.

Cylde is a fine photographer and spokesman for conserving the Everglades. I met him in a cypress dome once. It's always interesting to see a different style of photographer at work. His equipment alone makes you feel like you've been transported back 100 years.
