I agree, the Comcast economy tier (or for that matter any tier of Comcast if you're not a TV subscriber) is more expensive than competitors. For example, RCN cable in Chicago offers 1.5Mbps/384Kbps for $19.99/mo, 10Mbps/800Kbps for $29.99/mo, and 20/2Mbps for $49.99/mo, no TV subscription required. Modem rental fee is $3/mo but is being raised to $5/mo. -- Mike
