50mbps cable and VZ's fios: with fios you get your speeds all the time unlike on cable you'll be lucky to see at 3am.
FTTH: 2400mbps shared among 32 users vs cables 160mbps[assuming all 4 channels in use] shared among 500+ people!

500? Really? Maybe back in 2001. A typical node will pass about 200 homes (that's passed.... not served) and they're bringing that number down each year with more node splits. So if your Internet penetration rate is 30% (which is a very generous percentage) you're looking at about 60 homes worse case.
