Business plan adjusting to changing reality

»Verizon Wireless: 'All You Can Eat' Has Got To Change
raise wireless data rates for everybody in order to offset losses in SMS and mobile voice revenues that will be incurred by a migration to open networks, mobile VoIP, push IM clients, and smartphones.
As wireless access changes to an environment as stated above, then the way to do billing must change along with it. Everyone talks about how the RIAA & MPAA didn't change their business plans to fit the switch to digital entertainment. Well Verizon and other wireless providers have recognized a changing environment and are getting ready to change their business plans accordingly. Seems like a good move on their part to me.

That's fine start charging pay as you go. They can also PROVE that it cost them $51.20 per extra GB over 5 GB. Amazing since my ISP can do it for 10 cents.

You're wireless ISP can do it for $0.10? It seems as though your wireless service provider is currently doing it for closer to $12/GB ($60/5GB - whatever recurring O&M cost).

Again, I agree... but proving it or not, $51.20 per GB is WAY out of line... That 1 single gig costs almost as much as the initial 5GB. In my case, it would be more than I pay.. my plan is $49.99 a month on Sprint.. however, I'm still grandfathered on the Unlimited Plan so I'm fine, for now.
