Re: what is best It's mostly hyperbole, unless you use it as your only connection, or stream video. I have had VZ EVDO for over two years, use it 10 hours a day (business & pleasure) even when WIFI is available due to security concerns, and have reached 5 gigs exactly once. Each time you log on (if you use the VZ provided software), it gives you your usage, and tells you when the bill will roll over.
Most posters here as usual miss the point on the overage fee. They don't expect to collect it. It is a deterrent to overuse. You can support 8 of me on the same (limited) bandwidth of the 17 gig user above on average. |

With respect, it depends on the your usage. I carried VZ cards for a year or two and went over my cap routinely, though I used it less than 10 hours a day, nor did I stream video.
What I did was stream radio. I'd average 7 or 8 GB/mo. Since they were part of a medium sized corporate account, VZ never said a word.
I have no complaint w/ their service. I did lose signal at my 3 most visited locations (home, work, church) but that is the luck of the draw, not a reflection on Verizon.
I find I'm more satisfied w/ my 1yo Sprint account. It's 30/mo ea for phone data and PC data card. I can tether my phone and have NO Cap on either. Again, it's corp service and the rules can be different.
