Why anyone still has VOIP when home phone bundles are available with cable/fiber; and the abundance of cellular options still confundles me.
Yes, why pay under $20/mo for something when you can pay about $40 for less?
My cable provider I've heard charges $60 to install phone service. Compare that to Vonage which is $25 to start up. Is that cheap?

I can get a VOIP account setup with callcentric or future nine for free. No startup costs.

I can use skype for unlimited outgoing calls for $3/month, no startup costs.

Cable phone service just seems expensive to me.

I use Skype - the $3 month works well for outgoing, and saves most of my minutes.
