My number was issued in June or '04. I don't want to change my #. Cable companies use proprietary equipment MTA modem. I don't want to rent or purchase one. I have my own modem and it's going to stay that way. Yes you can port over your # but I don't want to go through the hassles. Bundled pkgs expire and promotions end. Comcast is notorious for that. That is a trick that they use to jack up ppls bills on the sneak. The only way I'd stop using Vonage at this point is if they go out of business. I don't have the time to deal w/ switching. |

As far as not wanting to deal with the hassles of transferring your number I can say my transfer from Vonage went smooth and required nothing on my part other than emailing a copy of my Vonage bill to the provider I was switching to as proof that it was my number. Oh and I think Vonage intentionally made the number transfer date after my next billing cycle had started so that they could get one more month of service out of me.
I understand your reasoning a bit, as I stuck it out with Vonage probably a lot longer than I should have as I too had the service since 2004. |
