It actually looks like Qwest is responsible for the rather sucky routing; "slc" stands for Salt Lake City on your traceroute's 4th hop. I traced to Salt Lake City on Level3 just now to your second hop via Comcast...
I'm guessing that Qwest DSL would actually have inferior routing to what you're getting on Digis FWIW. Also, last I checked Skybeam routed through Data102 (Level3 + TW Telecom + Cogent). But that was about two and a half months ago. Now it looks loks the mix is toward Qwest + Cogent??? Their routing changes like underwear... |
