speed test widget?

Is there some desktop software (WinXP) that will run unattended scheduled periodic speed tests (say once per hour) and record the data to a log file automatically?

Running regular speed tests is useless, run them if you change something or you notice a slow down.

If you feel the need, write a script that runs an FTP and saves the script results to a file.

One file you can pull is a 64MB file from OOL (Optimum Online) - »ftp://ftp1.optonline.net/test64

If you can write a windows script or whatever your OS is, you can automate the FTP and the output from it as well as delete the file after it is downloaded.
