 | New Wave & DOCSIS 3.0 I had contacted New Wave recently on when they are going to institute DOCSIS 3.0 and was told for my Area that it would be awhile. I tried in vain to get an exact time frame but the CS rep could not give one...
Does anyone in other areas have DOCSIS 3.0 yet?? |

 | Update of DOCSIS 3.0 Hi all, I am updating this to reflect a conversation I had today w/ a tech from New Wave. Was having abnormal time out issues and come to find out my modem is having issues... well they are rolling a truck out to fix in the next 24 hrs.. yeah me ( holding my breath).
Anyway I again ask about when DOCSIS 3.0 is being rolled out in New Wave foot print. He would not give me an exact date, but he said sometime in July we should see it being rolled out by them. He did comment that yes we would see a boost in their/our speed packages but ,of course, not known as to what..
Great bit of news for those of us in New Wave territory. Will update if I know of anymore news and to all the rest of you on this board who might have news of New Wave post it please |

Re: New Wave & DOCSIS 3.0 Well this forum is Quiet....
Recently, New Wave began its DOCSIS 3.0 rollout w/ in its footprint. After sending an email to both the CEO's helpdesk and the GM at my local headend for formal complaint about their CS and techs. I have been fortunate enough to be told that those that want to upgrade the rented modems from the DOCSIS 2.0 to 3.0.
You must take the modem to a local New wave office for a upgrade....
But please do yourself a favor and call your local office ahead of time and as they do not expect the entire New Wave territory to be DOCSIS 3.0 compliant until sometime early 2011.. |

|
 | not yet.... heard from a tech it has been delayed. And from what he said he's not looking forward to the switch. But as to when, IDK . TBH the slower they go w/ this the worse it is on us as customers. |

They classify it as 50/5. I really want to see what the performance and price jump is on this. |
|
 | Well Glad to see and have confirmed that this "Warp Wave" is indeed a reality and with a Price to boot. CS rep told me that the price is a standalone price $129.99. And at this time they are not offering it at a bundled price. She did not say when the Warp Wave will be offered in my Area but hinted at sometime in late summer/early Fall of 2011. So to those who are reading this and it is available in your area and are subscribed to Warp Wave would love to hear from you... Maybe even a Speedtest post to see what those of us can look forward to |

 | reply to celtictoad13 [rant] Newwave can't even deliver on their pathetic 10/.3 speeds they advertise/claim now. I have ZERO faith in them EVER bringing those types of speeds to us. In addition, even if they did, and proved to me it was reliable, I don't think I could fork over any more money to these guys per month. I'm about at my breaking point as it is now! In the last year I have received a free DVR, 6 months free HD, 12 months free Encore and Starz, and I am still on the verge of leaving from disastisfaction. Newwave knows there is something wrong, I've been in contact with their VP of marketing, but nothing has been done. When you call in for service, you still get abused. When your service goes down, who knows when it will be back up. It could be minutes, it could be days.
30 miles north of me, Comcast is bringing 25/5 in to people's homes. Now. Right now. I see the speed tests daily. Newwave's standard 10/.3 is seriously pathetic and a sorry excuse for "broadband". [/rant]
Whew, sorry about that
Sincerely, Not-holding-his-breath-for-docsis-3.0 |
