 | Arris Password of the Day So I was looking around for some of this information on the internet and ran across this information. Thought I would share it to see if it works on other Arris models, I have a TM502G. There were no settings in the "Advanced" section that could be changed but there was some very interesting information.
Let me know if it works.

What you are seeing is exactly what the call center can see through Arris VQM |

 | reply to HonestEnd I honestly don't see why they even put a password on the settings. There aren't any configurable options in the Advanced menu anyway. |

 | reply to HonestEnd I've seen people talk about an advanced tab, but my 602G doesn't have it. Did comcast remove/disable it completely or is it just a hidden url now? If so, what is it? |

TordekMake the outages go awayPremium join:2009-09-07 Great White kudos:2 1 edit | reply to HonestEnd Comcast has zero control over this. It is alll handled by the vendor. Everything from PoD's to the access to it.
Most likely the Newer MTA's have it removed in the firmware as there is nothing in there that will make any sense to a customer.
While the implementation is still there in the modem it is no longer transparent to the end user. VQM diagnostics can still be performed using the MSO's system of choice as it is a simple intergration.
-- Through those pages as ATS said you can determine if the MTA is receiving the call, and the phone is just not ringing (short) or Ground faults across the system. Extended battery diagnostics is available for some models, microflections, jitter, and even the provisioned switch data. The Master logins can be used to "Free" the device from a provisioned status. The only one i know with those PoD's are the vendor themselves.
--
Lastly the same thing that people talk about in the advanced tab is what the screenshots show. Extended diagnostics primarily of the Voice side of the MTA.
Edit: Incidently those screenshots show something that is not good
You might have a SNR issue somewhere in your house 3.02e-7 is quite high

In one of the screen shots at says "This modem does not store copies of its config files". I'm betting that's supposed to be top secret info along with the TFTP address above it.-- Bit Torrent is my DVR. |

Or just the ones looking for info that as you stated "is no use to anyone" |

 | reply to beachintech If you say so... You seem to have a very vague understanding of the word "curious". |

1 edit | reply to LeftOfSanity Nope, I did say usually. There is no useful information to anyone outside of comcast in those pages. Yeah it's there and it's "secret". So I guess some people have to see it. Posting it on a forum like this doesn't exactly seem appropriate.
Edit - that's about all I'll say. I don't really care for the hey mods this conversation could lead to and the IM's telling me I'm wrong, I shouldn't say things, etc. -- Tech at the Beach. I speak for myself, not my employer. |
