I've a client that has one, gotta be 6-7 years old. Still works. Recommended to her several times to buy a newer model, they are faster, more reliable. Even showed her the flaw (just bumped the unit, it shutdown, restarted). Her billing shows the monthly rental fee...I figure she's paid $168 so far on the modem alone -- Splat
