Comcap

So does Comcap still have that 250 GB cap in place?

100 Mbps... ooh, that sounds really exciting! *hits monthly 250 GB bandwidth cap after just 5 hours of using my shiny new 100 Mbps Internet connection*

welp

It's not because you have a 250gb that you can hit in 5 hours that you must use it in 5 hours.

Also, 250gb is a lot (if you compare to what's avaible in Québec)

The have the 100MB plans here (I'm in Western MA), but they do not offer them publicly and often. I called up and asked... Some said yes and gave me a price quote and others said no.

I'll stick with my 12/2 for 24.95 though (nothing will make me change that, unless the upgrade is free)

It sure would be nice if all these people using over 250 gigs a month would just shut up and get a business connection so they can get over the cap already.

It seems simple if you don't want the cap that they advertise (they're not being deceptive about it anymore) for residential, get a business connection with no cap. Problem solved.

Me and the rest of the 99% of people who don't have problems with the cap appreciate you not clogging up our nodes.

I have to agree.

I use NetFlix, xBox 360 Live, PlayStation, Hulu.com, Pandora, Last.fm, and download several DVD ISO's of linux and the most I have ever used was almost 100GB (think it was 70-80).

Yes because if you don't use X amount of bandwidth neither should I....

There is no reason other than stifling internet video that Comcast has a 250 GB cap. 100Mbit/s and a 250 GB cap (which is about 5 hours of saturated use) is embarrassing.

It is sad to see the Comcast babies defend their shitty ISP's shitty policies. Just because you're stuck with a terrible ISP and don't have any other options doesn't mean you have to go around fellating them on broadband forums out of jealousy of others who are fortunate enough to have decent ISPs with no bandwidth caps.

I'm making an assumption, that you are not a comcast customer. If that is the case, why do you give a flying F^&$ ????? Oh, sorry I guess i just fellated comcast

You're right, I should give comcast the boot and sign up for 1.5 meg dry loop dsl from qwest for the same price...

And while I'm bent over (For comcast) I may as well ask, which residential ISP allows unlimited data with no caps? I mean, truly unlimited?

How bout you prove your claims and saturate your time warner connection for a month solid (while giving them a2m)

I give a flying fuck because Comcast is a demon, rapidly consuming other ISPs and leading the way in the spread of horrific policies. The nation's largest cable monopoly that is only getting bigger.

FYI: I saturate my connection all month every month.

That about sums it up very nicely. For many people comcap holds a monopoly over their internet. These types of policies resonate through out the country.

Dood i love my connection but to keep it taxed for a home connection like that is like running around your house and turning everything on to just see the meter spin faster, just because you can doesn't mean you should, common sense,i am all for them leaving my connection alone but don't poke a sleeping bear.

That analogy would make sense if bandwidth were a limited resource like Comcap seems to have brainwashed their minions in to believing

Putting some arbitrary limit on bandwidth usage like it's a fossil fuel is ridiculous. Usage has nothing to do with congestion, overall capacity does.
