Caps Have Been Raised

At least in the Radford/C'burg area.

Mid Priced Tier - 8Mb Speed and now 70GB
High Priced Tier - 12Mb Speed and now 150GB

I'll take whatever I can get

Confirmed!! Caps for the Rustbug/Forest area (Campbell County) have been raised as well. I remember back around Jan. when they increased speeds, and am glad to get the extra room for cap space. I subscribe to the $40/month plan (8/384) and for that speed at that price...it's not too shabby. A 10 GB increase isn't great, but it's at least something, and I know if need be down the road for a few months, having the higher tier with 150 GB is a great option. Slow and steady, but Jet BB seems to be moving in the right direction. Wasn't it just two years ago that they're download speed for the $40/month tier something awful like 3mpbs?

Big deal. I'll take it but Radford and Christiansburg are still in third place when compared to surrounding providers in terms of speeds and traffic allowances.

If Verizon had FiOS in this area or any other competition for that matter they'd be singing a different tune. As it is, Jet has us all by the short and curlys and there's not a thing we can do about it.

Most people, including myself are Jet subscribers because of necessity, not by choice. They throw us a bone once in awhile to try and keep us happy, but at the same time they do it without regard (or concern) that their subscribers receive service that is well below what surrounding cable ISP's provide for the same or lower price.

Thanks for nothing Jet.

The only way things will ever change is if subscribers show up in large numbers at Radford city council meetings and demand they shape up or ship out. Jet is already on thin ice with the city of Radford as it is so a move like that may actually get results.
