Re: Speedstream 4100a (SBC Edition) Upgraded to Optus SS4200

I don't know what is the latest software version for the 4200
0/35 is a very popular pvc

If you want the 4200 to share the public ip address on its lan port you make that change on the "/ipp_config.htm" page

This is just like the 2wire dmzplus mode
The 4200 also has a "normal" dmz that uses a user selected private ip address
The sbc 4100 uses both the "dmzplus" and "normal" dmz

You really should map out a plan of action/changes before making any changes to the modem or lan devices

So, I must use "/ipp_config.htm" each time the SS4100a get a new public ip? The public ip address seems to not hold onto it when SS4100a is rebooted.

I'm just wondering how I can make the Siemens Generic Firmware emulate the default mode of "PPP on the modem" of the SBC Firmware, where its DHCP hands out a single ip (192.168.1.64) with the modem IP address (192.168.0.1) & the 192.168.1.64 has all its ports open, and when a public ip address gets associated with it, it is passed onto your router as a public wan address.

Can such a config, be saved permanantly that will survive a reboot/reset?

The "/ipp_config.htm" page will retain its settings during a reboot and a modem reboot will trigger a release/renew of the public ip address

You can reconfigure the ip address to the value you posted
You can reconfigure the dhcp server to the values you posted
You can configure a dmz ip address

You can configure the modem that way and it will remain that way until a reset to factory defaults is done
Rebooting the modem will not change any settings

Thanks for the assistance wayjac,

I was trying to test out a few other SS4200 firmware. I had to unlyme and use updatelocal.htm for each of the updates. It seems I can no longer "upgrade" to ANY firmware using the ".exe" files.

Do you know what info is used by the ".exe" file to detect the proper modem so that the "upgrade" button is NOT greyed out?

Perhaps a flash memory value I must change via telnet?

Thanks!
