| This is the way of big telco... It's no different than AT & T neglecting their copper lines since the first day they were attached to the poles but then in one year spend a billion dollars on upgrades.
I know for years I was charged by AT & T a fee that was supposed to be to maintain and upgrade the infrastructure. They never sank a dime into the network. Instead they took that money and built brand new networks for the affluent communities and left people right in the middle of the most populated area of the region with no internet service at all for years. Hell, they've only managed to get uverse in the area in the past year and this is the biggest area of the region!
The bottom line is these companies are about PROFIT not SERVICE. Any company that is stockholder controlled are about PROFIT and nothing more.
If you want to fix the telecom mess start by making it illegal to sell stocks for any company that has a monopoly - cable, telephone and yes even electric and gas. If you have NO competition you should have no ability to screw people. |
