Thanks for finding that article, I'll send the link to my dad.

He lives in a tiny town which is directly effected by this (Mansfield, IL). They've had some issues with with Verizon's POTS over the years (forget DSL, it's not available), but they use and are happy with VZ's cell service.

It's a stretch to call it broadband now, but they use and have been happy with a local WISP- which I'm sure backhauls to one or two VZ T1's located in Verizon's storage shed sized CO in town. As long as Frontier doesn't muck up the WISP's access, I doubt they'll notice any difference.
