| It can always be worse. The only way to ever fix Illinois is to get the Gov out of Chicago and Chicago out of the Legislature. Cut the umbilical cord. Chicagoans hate the rest of the state anyway. They need to have the opportunity to take care of themselves and Cook County and not accept any state funds or federal funds they don't apply for. If it lasted 90 days I would be very surprised.
We should have had a 3 party system a long time ago. It is long overdue.

| I'd say at least 5 -- there are plenty of far-left and far-right lunatics out there to provide amusement for the rest of us, and if we can marginalize them with at least 3 parties closer to the middle, we'll be safe from having the lunatics actually wreck anything important. |

| Maybe, but another idea is to do away with the 2 for 1 vote in national elections. I think its okay to have a Prez from one party and the Vice Prez from the other. I've seen it work quite well in a couple of states I lived in. I think the idea that a party platform is handed down from god is absurd.
If you are only willing to vote "your" conscience, then stay out of Congress. Go sit in a corner, suck your thumb and leave the rest of us alone.
