Cisco Catalyst 3750G stack for GigE transport services, uplinked with 4x SMF-LR SFPs with 5x copper GigE downlinks. A tasty 3750G-12S underneath it sitting unused with an equally tasty SMF long haul SFP.
Some ADC fiber cross-connect cabinets and the fiber patching...
Some rare ONI Systems Online2500 gear for carrier ethernet transport along with a WRN VLX2020 for OC-192/STM-64 SONET services.
A lonely but tricked out Catalyst 5505 with a never-before-seen SMF-LR GigE uplink card in the supervisor and a few lonely fast ethernet drops. |

Maybe... what makes you say that? |
|
|
I've seen some pictures of 60 Hudson's hallways and heard about the absolute wiring mess that is/was in that building. |

Damn! 2004? I was like what... 15 or 16 years old then. Guess you can say that I'm all about the 3rd floor at 60 Hudson. |

Did you guys rack those Absolyte battery jars? Those things SUCK.
I spent a week unloading, transporting, and then reloading jars last summer in the desert heat while we built four new cell sites and it was miserable. |

Oh, suck it up, ladies... The Absolytes aren't that bad... We just did a rack of flooded cells at 680# a jar... About 17,000 pounds for the string and racking. Or, roughly twice the weight of the one's pictured here. I am a little surprised at the Cat5500 - they were MD'd several years ago, and many companies have removed them from service... Overall, pretty nice work! |

The Catalyst 5500 is from an inter-floor cross-connect company that pretty much places one of those bad boys on every floor, in every suite. Basically if you want 100mbit ethernet from Suite X on Floor 4 to Suite Y on Floor 8, they tell you "plug into port 5/3 on the 4th floor and it will be trunked to port 6/1 on the 8th floor" I guess it works.. |

I have to admit I wish I worked around it more often. Most of the time I am just designing additional equipment spots or more racks with Newmar GMT fuse panels. Rarely do I get to help out the techs with site construction. |
