Re: Are you looking forward to FFXIV? I can't wait for beta to start. I knew the game would be good but it's shaping up to be great. I won't compare it to WoW or say it's a WoW killer because I doubt it will be but it will give WoW the biggest run for it's money of all games released during it's rein. |

| I hope is has nothing to do with WoW. It was a great game that got caught up in it's own success. It's time for a game to blaze a new trail and I can't wait. I'd almost pay just to play the beta. -- Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike they've all come to look for America...

| reply to xcal784 Most of the Alpha/Beta testers have played WoW so there's a very heavy push to use the best of FFXI with the best of WoW as well as other MMORPG's to create FFXIV into the best MMORPG out. It's doubtful they will be able to capture WoW's success but they will shatter FFXI's success with FFXIV. |

| I played WoW for 4 years and in my opinion the game started downhill when TBC rolled and WotLK sealed it. As the amount of subscribers arced upwards the game play, for me, spiraled down. That's fine. Bliz makes great games intended to bring in the most money they can. It's just not my cup of tea anymore. That said I will probably buy Cat when it rolls but I can't say I'm overly excited about any of the changes. What I am excited about is FFXIV because it looks like it's going to bring a lot more individual customization within the MMORPG platform instead of this ICC piece of gear goes with this cookie cutter class and so on. The complete inversion of that thinking is pretty darn exciting! -- Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike they've all come to look for America...

 | reply to xcal784 Look for more beta invites in the next 2 weeks or so. They are hinting they want to 'double' the tester base for beta. They are at like 15,000 now so there's a good chance a few more DSLR people will get in over the next few weeks. |

Also, who else has given the Benchmark test a run? Curious to see what kind of results people are getting. -- Lore Nerd. Role Player. Raid Leader. Discipline Priest. Slightly Annoying. Also Likes Kittens. |

I pre-ordered the CE version as well. Soon as I find out the server names for release I'll post which one I'm going to be on so others can join. We should be able to have a pretty nice 10-15 member guild right of the start between some old FFXI friends, some real life friends, and DSLR people. |
