merlins-portal down?

They put the site down at 10.30 GMT for "optimization". Said it would only be down a couple of hours lol. Anyways unfortunately looks like their having issues

The good news is that the site is back up again. The bad news is that about 3 months worth of NZBs are gone from the site now.

Anything uploaded before the downtime back to about 81 days old has been lost.

They seem to do that every few months to themselves HA.

Regular backups are great and all but if you never test the restore process don't bother with backups

I still can't access the site, times out or never fully loads.

I have been a member for years and only remember 2 large downtimes apart from the normal server moves as the site grows, topdawg i hardly think it's every few months. I will be sticking to them as they appear to be the only one not in for the money and principles of the site are the same as they were when i joined. Even after a loss there nzb database is still one of the largest.

always read neg comments be good for a change if people pointed out the good things it does for people. Always easier to write the bad.

I've been trying for a few days now, keeps coming up with incorrect username/login. Still seems to have new posts Though. And I agree with Mega Deth, people are always ready to knock someone, but not praise them often enough. If you are reading this Merlin, you rock. He has bought pleasure to 100's of people, and must have spent hours of his life, (and quite a few quid too) doing it. Here's to you Merlin, good luck on getting the site up again.

18.06.10 and merlins-portal is still down ,im a elite vip member thought we would of had an email from merlin or his staff.

we miss merlin so much ,YOU R GREAT MERLIN. hope whatever the problem is it is fixed soon, cheer m8ty,s.

i think merlin is down for maintenance however i am currently get my stuff at »www.nzb-forum.com/..

Its not as huge as merlin, nor does it have a smooth look but it beats not having anything hey!

This doesn't look good. A few days ago they at least had a page up saying they were working on the problem... now there's not even a site.

It's a great shame. I'm sure Merlin and the others are working flat out to rectify the problem(s).
I've been with this site for aprox 18months - and I will stick by them whatever. Problems like this are not the norm!
Merlin does a great job keeping the site going (OK if you want to be pedantic it's not going at this exact moment); and I'm sure this is much worse for him than for us.
Lets remember all the thousands of hours that the site works 100%, and not just these few problematic ones.
