Dear Cable, DSL and other non-FTTH companies...

Since you're all so willing boldly lie and exaggerate to our faces, even going to far as to deny and disagree when called on your dishonest practices, I think I'll just assume you're lying all the time when dealing with you--or not dealing with you.

At least the VDSL guys might be able to make a case for the fact that the VDSL link between the CTE and fiber node is not shared, but that's not true with cable... you're sharing that coax with 10, 15, 20, 30 houses... so if all users on that node were to generate high levels of traffic you'd bottleneck the link to the fiberY

Cable guys...you know what? Do a Search-Replace for "Fiber" with "Hybrid Fiber Coax" in all your ads, frankly the average Joe who is fooled by your fiber ads will probably see the add'l technical terms and get even more excited about your services, it might be win-win for you.

your VDSL link is going to be overloaded just as fast as cable. the VARD only has so much bandwidth going to it. If you have enough data going over that T3 from say 100 or so customers you'll have the same problem as cable.

stop pulling the DSL is better than Cable trick. and Fiber is the same. There is only so much bandwidth available and it's all shared at some point.

Except that Verizon's FiOS has a LOT MORE of it so they do not have to play the word games cable has to.

keep in mind. VZ does NOT use all that bandwidth and never will. Each line only services about 32 people. But when your you only sign up 1 out of ever 5 houses you pass that's not saying much.

By the way I live in a college town, have college kids all around my house on TWC cable and NEVER have a problem.

The "shared bandwidth" argument is getting old. Yes, cable shares its bandwidth but unless you live in a very densely populated area where everyone is saturating your node the slowdown won't be that much.

I am on cable and I don't notice any speed dips at any time of the day.

Well, then, why is Comcast using it to demonize the "hogs" ?
