I just don't want any VoIP newcomers to get scared off about porting.

These days, the FCC expects that ports should be completed within a few days.

While that may be a little unrealistic, ports should be finished within 2-3 weeks unless there is some major problem.

I've ported several numbers, from POTS to Cable, from POTS to VoIP, and from VoIP to VoIP, all within 2-3 weeks.

And the paperwork involved is modest, and should not take more than 15 minutes to fill out. I have no idea what is meant by "banking" etc.

Apologies for taking this a bit OT, but as I said, I just don't want anyone getting scared.
