Re: Distance? I'm in the same boat, but made a different decision. I dealt with Charter here (in the Reno,NV area) a number of years ago (for a few years) and I would rather have my testicles pounded flat with a wooden hammer than ever have to 1) deal with that company again and/or 2) send them another penny. Their customer service was non-existent & their tech support was as attrocaus as my spilling, neither of which would have been too bad if their actual tv service & internet service would have been even remotely stable which it was not (so I had to deal with the other 2 types of service). For you Charter fans out there, I fully admit that it's been a number of years since my bad experience with them. But I'm still not going to put myself through that again. I still hear horror stories from friends of mine who have Charter (so I take it as a given they have not fixed themselves). Say what you will about AT&T, but my internet (and my landline) have been bulletproof for as long as they have been installed here (8 years for POTS & 5 or so years for internet). I'd like a bit more speed (ok I'll take as much speed as they will sell me), but I normally get a mid to high 4meg result on speed tests (not great, but better than cutting Charter a check) and I can't remember a single outage of internet since signing up with AT&T for internet. |
