[Need Info] recommentations for cat5e drop installers

I'd like to find someone to install a panel for my home. I hope you can find someone that is worth recommending.

In the end I did decide to get a panel for him since I felt it would be better for the future worth of the house. After some looking around we went with »www.doubleeagleservicesinc.com/

After a free site inspection where we detailed the desired work they were quick to provide a detailed invoice at what I felt was a very fair price for the magnitude of work. They were also very good at scheduling and did a clean job.

Good choice going with someone. I just spent a couple of weeks making about 5 drops myself in my house out in Rockwall. Funny to see my 8-year-old daughter trying to clamp some fishing wire through a small RG6 plated hole with needle nose pliers while I'm shouting at her from the attic. Amazing that even though my house was built in '02 they didn't put enough space in between the wall boards to drop cable. The holes for the RG6 were only about an inch in diameter. For those trying to do this on their own, I had the best luck taping the Cat5e to the end of the existing RG6 in the wall and then pulling the whole thing through to the attic making sure to maintain enough slack to get it back down the other way. Also, I bought 500ft of Cat5e at Axiontech out near Addison (axiontech.com) for $39 along with a 8 port 10/100 Mbps switch )AZiO AES308P) for $12 that works great!

I am glad this topic was put up since I came to this forum for the first time to post the exact same thing.

With the company you went with do you think they would do one single Cat 6 drop and how much do you think it would be? I just need one to go from my living room to the upstairs office.

I can't guess on the price for a single drop but I am sure they could do it for you if you want assuming no crazy issues behind the walls. Your best bet would be to probably just give them a ring and see what they say.
